Warranty and credentials

What the warranty covers, and who stands behind it

Two warranties sit on a new roof, and they are not the same. The manufacturer stands behind the material. We stand behind the work.

Terms, limits and exclusions for both are in the written warranty, which is part of the bid and goes in the board packet.

The paperwork

Three things to read before you sign

  • Our workmanship warranty

Covers leaks that come from how we installed the roof, for five years from the close-out walk. Terms, limits and exclusions are in the written warranty.

  • The manufacturer's warranty

Covers the material, on the manufacturer's terms. We register it, and the bid names its level and what it asks of the owner.

  • What neither covers

Storm damage beyond what a product is rated for, damage from other trades, and a lack of upkeep. The written warranty lists each exclusion.

What we can show you

License and insurance, on the record

About the paperwork

Who registers the manufacturer's warranty?

We do, and the registration goes in the close-out file. The owner of the roof, usually the association, holds it.

What if the warranty company closes?

A manufacturer's warranty is the manufacturer's. If it changes, the written terms of the warranty you were given still apply. Ask us for the terms before you decide.
